This is my sandman piece! I drew the man with just pencil and paper, then found a lovely picture of an Egyptian statue, copy and pasted it, then customized it. I split the image into three layers in Adobe Photoshop, then changed the opacity to 62% so that the image became transparent. I wanted the image to look older to add more of the ancient Egypt feeling, so I took away the image in some areas, and added a torn texture.
This morning when I came into class this morning, the quote "Follow your dreams" was on the white bored with the word CANCELLED over it. It was created by a great street artist, and it is a pretty cool piece. Honestly, this quote could represent multiple things,  but when I read it, it made me think of all the obstacles that stand in the way of your goals. CANCELLED represents your struggle on your way to prosper.

Here is the finished piece with color! Sorry it's sideways, I'm not really sure why, but it wouldn't flip. I used chalk for her skin, and water-color colored pencils for everything else. the black and white shading is still there, I just went over it and added a little more.
Here is the black and white version of my drawing before I added color. I saw a drawing similar on WeHeartIt and fell in love, so I changed a lot up, and re created the drawing.

I just imagined what Jourdan thinks about while inventing something marvelous.
